The 141st Kentucky Derby

Beautiful day on Friday for the Oaks, and should be every bit as nice today for the boys.

I'm going to keep this brief.

Frosted is my choice for the 141'st running. Once McLaughlin had the soft palate procedure performed this guy exploded. History (1987) tells us that should continue here.

The only thing Upstart has done wrong is run up against a couple that ran the races of their lives to beat him. He's fast. He's tough. That outside post will be tricky.

Firing Line ran well against Dortmund just missing at Santa Anita, then exploded when moving to Sunland. He's fast, and is in a better post.

So I will take those three on top, in various formations, and throw in Carpe Diem, Materiality, Dortmund and maybe even Mubtaahij.

Good luck everyone!!!

Five Star Links

Seventy-nine life sized decorated horses were placed in and around Lexington, Kentucky. Check out some of these,  on December 2, 2000 at Keeneland, they were auctioned off for various charities. My personal favorite: Fanta-Sea Horse.

The McChump® Tour gets better every year. See what the sport looks like from the perspective of one of it's BIGgest fans. Terry Bjork has logged thousands of miles at racetracks near and far. The stories are priceless, admission is free. Terry is currently running the Derby List Triple Crown handicapping suarez, and has pictures from a recent trip to Hialeah.

M y old buddy Greg Melikov moved to Texas, but he's still active in the game, and he has a new site up with columns, articles, links, etc. Check out . His horses to watch have been RED HOT lately.

T he Tomlinson Numbers are now provided in the Racing Form. With that in mind, don't forget about Belmont Day 2000. The Tomlinson numbers struck again. In the Belmont no less, the endurance ratings singled out the top 4 finishers in the race. That's a $9315 superfecta, a $1310 trifecta, and a $213 exacta. What are you waiting for???

Thorograph.Com contains Jerry Brown's performance figures. Available for download and contains full explanation. A nice tool for decoding form cycles.
